An abandoned former printing space serves as the new headquarters and showroom for the designer of a modern line of classically inspired furniture. Layers of former neglect, renovation and repair are peeled away to reveal an ideal backdrop of industrial purity and restraint. The original floor, a hazardous patchwork of sloping wood and steel plates, is made seamless with a poured high gloss cement/epoxy mix. On top of this, two platforms, one L-shaped and one U-shaped, are positioned to create abstract sites for compositional flexibility.
